【摘要】:Thistestmethoddescribesthedesignanduseofvarioustypesofcurrentmeters.Thesecurrentmetersarecommonlyusedtomeasurethevelocityatapointinanopenchannelcrosssectionaspartofavelocity-areatraversetodeterminetheflowrateofwater.TothisenditshouldbeusedinconjunctionwithTestMethodD3858.1.1Thistestmethoddescribesthedesignanduseofcup-typeorvane-typeverticalaxiscurrentmetersandpropeller-typehorizontalaxiscurrentmetersformeasuringwatervelocitiesinopenchannels.1.2Thistestmethodisintendedprimarilyforthosemeterscustomarilyusedinopen-channelhydraulic(asdistinguishedfromoceanographic)applicationswithanoperatorinattendance.1.3Thistestmethodisintendedprimarilyforcurrentmetersthatmeasureonecomponentorfilamentofflow.1.4Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.ThevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoSIunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
